Venice, 22 September 2023 - After the success of the first edition last year, the appointment with the 2nd Compressport Venice Lido Beach Trail returns, the original 'trail on the beach' branded Venicemarathon and titled this year by the prestigious brand Compressport', scheduled at the Lido of Venice on Sunday 24 September and which will attract off-road racing specialists from Italy and abroad.

The event was presented this morning live on Facebook on the official page of the event, in the presence of the budget councilor of the Municipality of Venice Michele Zuin, the president and CEO of Venezia Spiagge Pierluigi Padovan and the councilors Luca Voltolina, the president of Venicemarathon Piero Rosa Salva and the general coordinator Lorenzo Cortesi.

“The Venice Lido Beach Trail is an event that combines the beauty of this area with a professional and quality organization, capable of involving even foreign athletes. It is an event that represents an important promotional showcase for us and I am happy that it is being proposed again this year" - said councilor Michele Zuin.
The vice mayor and councilor for sport of the Municipality of Venice, Andrea Tomaello, also spoke with a video message: “The Venice Lido Beach Trail is an event that is growing and on which we are focusing a lot, because it manages to bring our territory and its our beaches at the end of the season, offering a day of sport and fun to athletes and families".

President Piero Rosa Salva recalled the conditions that led to the birth of the Compressport Venice Lido Beach Trail and the actors involved: "This event was created to be a quality sporting event to be included within the great work of relaunching the Lido di Venice by the Municipal Administration and all the local associations. The success of the beach trail also arises from the fact that we were able to grasp and develop a product that responds well to the new, more naturalistic needs of runners. I thank you since now the Municipal Administration, Venezia Spiagge, the Port Authority, the sponsors and all the entities at our side".

In his speech, Lorenzo Cortesi summarized the strengths of the event: "On the eve of this second edition, we can say that we are on the right path: doubled registrations, presence of foreign athletes who create tourism-economic related activities, title of the event by prestigious brands such as Compressport, Craft and Alì, a beautiful, welcoming and functional location like the Blue Moon and a unique naturalistic and landscape setting. The conditions for a great edition are all there! Finally, the run-walk dedicated to families Ali Family Run allows us to integrate more and more into the territory and in 2024 we will invite all the sports associations of the Lido to join us, to create a real sports village on the beach".
"This event manages to bring the beach to life in the way we intend it, both from a tourist and promotional point of view. It is the only sporting event capable of giving us great visibility, because it introduces runners to our beaches, our establishments seaside resorts and the nature that surrounds these areas. We are ready to welcome athletes and companions for a great day of sport!" - thus the president of Venezia Spiagge Pierluigi Padovan.

To encourage athletes to reach the Lido of Venice on two wheels, the organizers will reimburse the ticket for transporting the bicycle on the Ferry Boat. Once again, a concrete gesture of great environmental sensitivity on the part of Venicemarathon.

Once the finish line has been crossed, the athletes will receive the participation medal and will find final refreshment with San Benedetto water, Dole fruit, Palmisano biscuits, Pro Action supplements and Bavaria beer.

To enrich the post-race period, this year there will also be a massage service provided by the Diabasi professional school with the use of products from the sponsor Lacomed: in addition to having their muscles loosened, the athletes will receive valuable advice on the products.

The first three men and the first three women in the competitive 11K race will be rewarded with cups offered by Banco BPM and baskets with sweets and biscuits packaged by Dolci Palmisano.
